Relocation assistance will not be provided. The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with team members developing and implementing a wide range of internal, external and marketing communications strategies. The incumbent will: Write news releases and internal stories; Manage electronic communication postings; Prepare presentations; Assist in social media communications and research; Conduct research; Assist with media pitches; Edit various communication materials. The selected candidate is required to possess the following: Enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program with an emphasis in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Political Science or Writing; Excellent verbal communication skills; Basic writing and editing skills; Demonstrated PC skills including basic Microsoft Office, Internet (search engines), and Intranet systems; Ability to think creatively to solve an issue or take advantage of an opportunity; Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment; Ability to handle multiple projects and maintain poise in high-pressure situations; Ability to work between at least 20 per week. Preferred Qualifications: Completion of sophomore year; Available June through August 2012; Previous internship experience.
