This position will be located in Pittsburgh, PA. The incumbent will: Support plastics injection molding related activities of the Functional Films Group; Develop state-of- the-art knowledge of the technologies; Support the development of new and innovative processes; Conduct physical testing to generate applicable data; Run injection molding and thermoforming processes to determine processing settings for new applications and/or materials; Support the group on further application developments like formable chrome and hard coats, weatherable coatings, films development, adhesive testing, and in mold decorating; Design tooling for prototyping, robotic handling, etc.; Support process safety improvements; Use CAD software (SolidWorks) as necessary; Support the marketing efforts by preparing required information utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. The selected candidate will be required to possess the following: Enrollment in a bachelors degree program, with an emphasis in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics or Material Engineering; Completion of college sophomore year; Demonstrated hands-on mechanical abilities; This position could be a reoccurring opportunity based on performance of the candidate and availability of the position.
